Below is an open letter I wrote to Zeev Maoz and Errol Henderson outlining what I contend is a serious error in their use of the Religion and State (RAS) dataset which involves using data they, in their book, believed to be from 1989 but was in fact not from 1989 as the RAS project has never collected data from that year and begins in 1990. In responses to my open letter Maoz admits this error as does Henderson. However, there remains considerable disagreement between us. Below are links to PDF files with my open letter, Maoz & Henderson’s responses and my reactions to those responses. They are posted in chronological order based on the date in which I wrote my contributions and the date I received Maoz and Henderson’s contributions. Maoz and Henderson specifically requested that I post these responses on this site.

The links are below.
